An edited version of a posting to the ACT online mailing list which was subsequently published in the Wholistic Astrologer in 2000. It discusses the culture lag which separates the echoes of outer planet symbolic expressions from those which occurred during their original time frames. Old Astrology and the New Catechism   view
This article is by Fr.Laurence L. Cassidy, a member of the Jesuit community. At the time of writing he was the Professor and Chairman of the Department of Philosophy at Saint Peter's College, New Jersey. It was published just prior to the publication of the English language version of the updated Catechism of the Catholic Church. In it, Fr.Cassidy attempts to clarify the theological perspective in the Roman Church on astrology, and the general compatibility of astrological practices with Christian tradition.
